D&S Bluegrass Band a brother and sister band from Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. Inspired and taught to play Bluegrass music by their father, James Eichelberger, Brother Dennis Eichelberger and Sister Shawnee Perla were born into a musical family.

Denny took up playing the guitar at the age of eight. At the age of seventeen, he self taught himself to pick the banjo. In 1986, Denny met bluegrass Icon, Dr. Ralph Stanley and fell in love with “Old Time Mountain Style” of Bluegrass music. Denny learned the banjo style of Ralph Stanley and has been picking that style for over twenty years. Singing influences are that of Carter Stanley, Roy Lee Centers, and Keith Whitley to name a few.

Shawnee took up playing the mandolin at the age of five. By age eight, Shawnee took an interest in playing the guitar. Like her brother Denny, Shawnee herself took an interest to the “Old Time Mountain Style” of Bluegrass music. She too fell in love with Ralph Stanley’s style of picking and singing, which is sung and played with true heart and soul. Passionate to the cross picking guitar playing style of George Shuffler and Junior Blankenship, she also likes the singing styles of influences like Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss and Sonya Isaacs.

Lead vocals are sung by Denny Eichelberger and Tenor vocals are sung by , Shawnee Perla. Mother, Nancy Eichelberger is the booking agent and always there with her support. Some of the bands favorite hits are when they switch parts and Shawnee sings lead vocals and Denny sings tenor vocals. Either way, they still have that great family harmony.
